Many see the rise of transgenders as evidence that we’re living in the last days. The pervasiveness of the LGBTQ community is seen by many as clear indication that their movement is under the end time guiding hand of Satan. As the world continues its slow decline into absolute evil prior to the return of the Messiah the Transgender movement is considered by many to be part of the great delusion which will wash across Christianity in the last days. But do these claims hold up against the text?
Contrary to the popular sentiment of our day, end time prophecy does not include a single reference to Transgenders. The closest references to the end the of time and the LGTBQ movement I could find in the Bible are below.
Revelation 22:15 But outside are dogs and sorcerers and sexually immoral and murderers and idolaters, and whoever loves and practices a lie.
1 Corinthians 6:9 Or do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor men who practice homosexuality,While it’s true that both of these verses ban the sexually immoral from the Kingdom of God neither verse gives the indication that the rise of Transgenders or the LGTBQ movement are signs that we’re living in the end of days. Which leaves me asking the question, what is going on here?
From my perspective, this looks like another futile attempt by the future fulfillment advocates to again falsely place themselves in the end of days near the return of the Messiah. While certainly unpopular to say, according to the authorship of the New Testament, the people living when these letters were written, were themselves living in the last days (Hebrews 1:2).
Those who view the rise of transgenders and the LGBTQ movement as being a sign that we’re living in the last days are convinced that the current generation is the wicked generation deserving of God’s wrath. The people who find themselves in this camp are unfortunately overlooking the fact that Jesus himself declared the then living generation as being the wicked generation deserving of God’s wrath (Luke 11:50-51, Matthew 23:33). So is the rise of Transgenders and the LGBTQ movement signs that we’re living in the last days?
Contrary to the popular opinion of mainstream Christianity we must conclusively say the answer is no.
